Are you feeling stuck in your creative business or career? Things aren’t working as well as you want them to, but you’re damned if you know what to do about it. You’re stuck in a cycle of trying something (anything!) to turn things around, but slipping back into a state of paralysis because you nothing seems to work.
Take a breath.
We’ve all been there, and it sucks. But I promise, no matter how stuck you feel, things are always changing which means you can start turn things around at any moment.
Did you know that a lunar eclipse represents a time of change and transformation? The actions we take this week and in the weeks to come, will have an impact in our lives for years to come. And since change and transformation are kind of my jam, this post is dedicated to tapping into the magic of opportunity, intuition and inspired action.
Are you ready? Let’s go!
What do you want?
When we feel paralyzed our thinking tends to get muddy and vague. If you want to get the results you want, you need to set a specific intention. Do you want to work with a certain type of client? Build a dream team of collaborators? Learn a new skill? Re-position yourself in a new field? Choose ONE thing and write it down.
What’s your time-frame?
Let’s face it, we ALL procrastinate, especially about the things that are difficult or confronting. Give yourself a time frame of 30 days to take action towards your intention. Note, this isn’t the same as making it happen, just taking meaningful steps towards your goal.
Who else has successfully achieved the same goal?
One of the best hurdles I got over in my business was fear of competition. Here’s why. When someone in your field (or even outside of it) has achieved what you want to achieve, you know it’s possible. What’s more, you can model actions they’ve taken (because we all know, reinventing the wheel is overrated). Write a list of people who are doing what you want to do and research them; study their websites, read their blog, follow them on social media. If they’re successful, there will likely be a clear story-line as to how they did it.
What or who can help you achieve your goal?
I set some big goals at the beginning of this year and knew I needed extra support to achieve my goals. No man is an island after all! I knew I wasn’t ready for an expensive mastermind yet, but I needed something. Lo and behold, one of the people I admire in my industry, created a fantastic online community called CoCommercial where business owners at my level and above get guidance, ask questions, and engage in an active community. I’m learning so much, even though I know I’ve only scratched the surface. The investment is worth every penny!
What actions do you need to take?
OK, so you have a specific intention for yourself and your business. You have researched other people who have successfully done it. You’ve found people who can support you in doing the work. Now it’s time to take action. I hummed and hawed before I signed up for CoCommercial and it wasn’t even that big of an investment. Sometimes, we unwittingly hold ourselves back because making a big reach feels scary. Write down the action or actions you need to take. Declare your intention to someone else and ask them to hold you accountable until you take action.
The universe rewards those who take action. So, don’t hold back! If you’re feeling reticent to declare your intention to someone you know (I get it), why not declare it to me? Book a free 30-minute call with me, share your intention, and we’ll talk about ways you can make it a reality.
