Do you prioritize your creative projects?

By Justine Clay

When you look back on your day/week/month how do you feel?  Are you proud of the progress you made in your business or creative project, or do you wonder where the time went and what you achieved?

If it’s the latter, you’re not alone.  I know all too well that feeling of despair and panic when you just can’t seem to hit your stride. The good news is that we can easily break the cycle and get our groove back.

According to 99U’s new book ‘Manage your Day-to-Day: Build your routine, find your focus & Sharpen your Creative Mind’ – the answer is to prioritize your creative projects and work on them routinely.   All too often we prioritize the requests of others and, before we know it, we’re sucked into responding to a never-ending stream of email requests while the real work sits on the back burner.

How does that translate for you?  For me, it means working on creative projects such as newsletters, blog posts marketing materials first thing in the morning when I’m freshest.   It also means committing to writing every day.  As un-sexy as it sounds, routine is everything!

What do you do to prioritize your creative projects?  I’d love to know.
